April Seminar, Day One: Something really interesting came out during one of the critiques today and I wanted to write about it before I forget it because I thought it was very relevant, particularly to my own practice.
I took advantage of some time off pre-seminar to spend the weekend in Wellington, mostly because I realised that even though I get a break from teaching with the undergrads on holiday (and from the library, thank you Erich) with Masters looming, I wasn’t going to get a break for me, and I was beginning to feel a bit burnt out.
I have been reading Another way of telling (1982) by John Berger and Jean Mohr, which I found fascinating and very relevant to my line of research, particularly the essay Appearances.
